There is a 132kv overhead line connection proposed, spanning 20km between the proposed Glendye windfarm (North of Laurencekirk) and the existing Fetteresso Substation by Stonehaven. It is to be delivered via a line of 13m tall steel poles. In the photos above it's represented by the pale blue dashed line.
This will take the powerline right over the scenic Cairn O Mount, one of Scotland's most beautiful roads and a key part of our local infrastructure.
There is as a result concern about how this will affect our landscape.
