Jack Cruickshanks is the Scottish Conservative and Unionist councillor for Arbroath West, Letham and Friockheim, elected in April 2024 following a by-election.
He serves as Vice-Convenor of Angus Council’s Communities Committee, where he plays a senior role in shaping policy and providing oversight across local services, regeneration and community wellbeing. He also serves on the Council’s Policy and Resources, Family, Education and Justice, and Development Standards Committees.
Beyond his committee responsibilities, Jack is a member of the Arbroath Town Board, which oversees the delivery of up to £20 million of regeneration investment for the town. He is also a Director of Carnoustie Golf Links Management Committee, contributing to the strategic governance of one of Scotland’s most internationally recognised sporting and tourism assets.
Jack is the Scottish Conservative and Unionist candidate for Dundee City East at the next Scottish Parliament election. He is a graduate of the University of Dundee, where he obtained a first-class degree in Financial Economics, and works professionally on national Post Office remediation programmes established in response to the Horizon scandal, supporting the delivery of redress for affected postmasters across the United Kingdom.
