Ross Greig is a Scottish Conservative and Unionist councillor for the Forfar and District ward. He grew up in and around Friockheim, lives in Angus, and works in Forfar, giving him a strong connection to the communities he represents.
He serves as Convenor of Angus Council’s Civic Licensing Committee, where he is responsible for chairing proceedings and overseeing licensing matters that affect local businesses, community venues, and public safety. Ross also sits on the Council’s Communities Committee, Housing Committee, Licensing Board, and the Scrutiny and Audit Committee, contributing to both service oversight and regulatory decision-making.
Alongside his council duties, Ross represents Angus Council on a number of external bodies, including the Angus Council Charitable Trust, the Angus Educational Trust, the Angus Health and Social Care Integration Joint Board (as a proxy member), the North East Scotland Agricultural Advisory Group, and Strangs Mortification, supporting partnership working across education, health, rural affairs, and local trusts.
As a councillor, Ross focuses on the practical issues that affect daily life in Forfar and the surrounding area. This includes road conditions, parking, fly-tipping, community safety, and ensuring residents are listened to when decisions are taken. He places a strong emphasis on engagement and on working constructively to deliver improvements for the town and its villages.
